Prams in the Park
'Prams in the Park' is a specially designed workout for parents of children of all ages. It comprises a mixture of cardio-vascular and resistance (strength) training suitable for all fitness levels. Participants are able to work at their own pace and level whilst being trained and supported by a qualified Personal Trainer.
Many of my clients come to Prams in the Park initially wanting to lose weight gained during pregnancy. For some of them this is very soon after their baby arrives, for others it's years later. What they realise very quickly is that Prams in the Park offers many other benefits as well. It provides often craved adult company and conversation, a widened social network, excellent emotional support (many of my clients have formed strong friendships with other Prams clients) and, an affordable and convenient way to exercise and still be able to care for your babies and/or children.
Additionally,
while the initial goal is often to lose weight one of the major
things you will quickly notice is an increase in your strength
and function. As you get stronger the things you do every day
such as housework, lifting children etc become easier. Your
body is less prone to injury and many clients notice that problem
area's (bad backs etc) get better. Also, as you increase muscle
your body burns more calories, making it easier to lose unwanted
weight. Many of my clients intend to have more children and
they will all tell you that they are in better shape now than
they have ever been, making their next pregnancy and delivery
much easier and the recovery afterwards quicker and easier.
I
limit group numbers to enable me to maintain focus on each
individual. This ensures both the safety of all
participants and, that results are achieved. Sessions are set
up 'circuit' style so there is no pressure for anyone to keep
up with a set pace and my individual focus means I am able to
ensure that everyone trains within their capability. Therefore,
bookings are essential.
Sessions
are conducted in beautiful Central Park, East Malvern (near
the Central Park Rd/Kingston St corner, Melways
59 G10) in a fun, friendly, flexible and supportive environment.
During winter and when wet, sessions are held at the Rotunda in Treyvaud Memorial Park, Chadstone (Melways Ref: 69 D3).
